Mar 14, 2007 (The Sydney Morning Herald - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A University of New South Wales academic has argued that cities should adopt better planning and design practices in order to promote wellbeing. Associate Professor Susan Thompson organised a forum of planning, landscape, architecture and medical students to discuss health issues related to urban design. They discovered that poorly designed cities encouraged inadequate access to facilities, poorer mental and physical health and greater isolation.
