Mothers fear work rights are at risk.
Australasian Business Intelligence, March, 2007
Mar 12, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian Services Union has alleged that Qantas Airways breached Australia's Sex Discrimination Act. The union is consulting lawyers and intends to lodge a series of complaints with the nation's Human Rights & Equal Opportunities Commission. The matter relates to claims by the union's Queensland branch secretary, Julie Bignell, and six other women. They argue they were promised a four-day weekly roster after returning from maternity leave, but were ultimately forced to work five-day weeks.
