Macquarie's new strategy.

Mar 11, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Macquarie University in Sydney is pursuing a strategy to raise its standing and improve staff performance. Vice-chancellor Steven Schwartz aims to join the Group of Eight and the global top 200 by 2017. In 2007, he plans to implement strategies aimed at improving the performance of management. All staff will participate in an assessment and appraisal scheme. He also plans to establish a property trust that will provide income from the university's property assets. The strategy will focus the university after a dispute with the former vice-chancellor in February 2007.
