The Working with Children Act: not quite working.

Mar 09, 2007 (Law Institute Journal - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Working with Children Act (Vic) needs to be amended. The current legislation requires those who are engaged in child-related work to hold an assessment notice issued by the Secretary to the Department of Justice. The Act poses a risk that separating foster parents and children for weeks, before the Victorian Civil & Administrative Tribunal can hear an application under section 26(1) and make a determination.
