Mar 26, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The design of workspace can encourage creativity and productivity. Bill Mitchell, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the US, is visiting Australia under the Miegunyah fellowship program of University of Melbourne. Mitchell said that, for employers and educational institutions, staff are the most valuable resource. A building that is attractive and comfortable to staff is more complicated and expensive, while productivity gains are difficult to measure. However, a design with informal meeting and work spaces provides opportunities for creativity.
