Mar 15, 2007 (Lawyers Weekly - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Grant Thornton, a large US second-tier audit firm, has commissioned a brand survey. The survey, carried out by Harris Interactive, indicates that 67 per cent of respondents believe that whether their firms are audited by a Big Four audit firm or another global or national firm is of little importance. In another study, Scott Whisenant, from the University of Houston, showed that there was no statistically significant evidence of stock price decline for companies which shifted from either PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Deloitte, Ernst & Young and the former Arthur Anderson to Grant Thornton.
