Australasian Business Intelligence, April, 2007

Apr 17, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The worst university massacre in US history has prompted renewed calls for a crackdown on handguns. Some 32 students were killed in mid-April 2007, when a gunman opened fire on students at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. Gun control laws in the state of Virginia are considered among the most lax in northern America. The latest shooting rampage has had an immediate political fallout in Washington, with hearings involving the Attorney-General, Alberto Gonzales, pushed back by several days.
