Byline: Chris Tolhurst
Apr 16, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- There can be significant benefits associated with using web-based software tools such as word-processing and spreadsheet programs. Scott Tahaghoghi of RMIT University says hosted online applications offer benefits such as remote access, although he notes that their functionality is often more limited and they tend to be slower than PC-based software. He adds that privacy and intellectual property concerns may be an issue for some companies, as the data is stored on the servers of the application provider.
