ASX CEO speaks on Group's operations.

Australasian Business Intelligence, April, 2007

Apr 25, 2007 (InFinance - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The 2006 merger of the Australian Stock Exchange and the Sydney Future Exchange (SFE) created the ninth largest exchange in the world. Robert Elstone, the MD and CEO of the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), gave some idea of the size and scale of the new entity when he spoke at a Finsia luncheon in November 2006. Elstone noted that the ASX monitors over 2,000 listed companies, that it issued between 400 and 500 "share price queries" in the 2006 financial year, and that it refers as many as 50 matters a year to the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) on issues such as continuous disclosure and possible insider trading.
