Australasian Business Intelligence, April, 2007
Apr 23, 2007 (HR Monthly - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Hong Kong researchers have studied the factors that cause burnout in nurses. Two academics at City University surveyed 2,267 nurses in 43 public hospitals. They studied burnout stemming from emotional exhaustion, depersonalisation, and personal accomplishment. The study showed that the main issues were job demands and lack of professional recognition. The most favoured coping mechanism was self-efficacy.
