Kaplan to buy Finsia for $36 million.

May 01, 2007 (Independent Financial Adviser - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Kaplan, an offshoot of Washington Post, has made a $A36 million offer to buy Finsia. If the deal goes ahead, the Australian target group will join Tribeca as a member of a worldwide education and publishing group. Kaplan acquired Tribeca for $A55 million one year ago. Kaplan intends to make Finsia Education its supplier of higher education in the Australian financial services sector, with Tribeca as its professional development and vocational education unit. Finsia management says existing students will not be affected by the sale.
