May 02, 2007 (Weekly Tax Bulletin - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has advised it has withdrawn a number of PAYE Bulletins and PPS Bulletins. The PAYE Bulletins, which number from one to 12, state the pay as you earn (PAYE) system became obsolete as from 1 July 2000 when the pay as you go (PAYG) withholding system came into effect, and therefore the bulletins are no longer current. Similarly, the PPS Bulletins, which number from one to 11, state the PPS system also became obsolete on 1 July 2000 as a result of the PAYG withholding system taking effect, and therefore are also no longer current.
