Linfox buys NZ's Provincial Freightlines.

May 01, 2007 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australian transport group Linfox has acquired New Zealand (NZ) trucking business Provincial Freightlines. Linfox Logistics CEO, Michael Byrne, said the purchase will double the revenue base of Linfox's NZ operations, and there will also be opportunities for cost savings through the consolidation of administrative functions. Byrne said the acquisition will provide opportunities for organic growth with existing customers. Provincial is based on the North Island and services the logging, timber, chemical, fuel, packaging and consumer foods industries, with customers including Carter Holt Harvey and Shell NZ.
