Australasian Business Intelligence, May, 2007
Byline: Lisa Mak
May 13, 2007 (Weekly Tax Bulletin - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) issued Taxpayer Alert TA 2007/2 "Employee Entitlement Fund" on 3 May 2007. The document outlines an arrangement known as an employee entitlement fund, into which an employer makes contributions on the basis that they may be used in the future to meet employee entitlements, and for which the employer may seek deductions. The ATO notes that there are certain employee entitlement fund arrangements for which employers may be seeking deductions they are not entitled to, and the document outlines examples of such arrangements.
