JV Mobile comes to grief with franchising code.

Australasian Business Intelligence, May, 2007

May 10, 2007 (Inside Retailing - ABIX via COMTEX) -- JV Mobile has fallen foul of the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) after promoting itself as a franchise. The ACCC found that JV Mobile, which sells mobile telephones, accessories and phone time, was not in compliance with a number of aspects of the franchising code. Under a court-enforceable undertaking, JV Mobile has agreed that all agreements offered to potential retail investors should be in accordance with the code, and that current retailers should be allowed to structure their existing agreements as franchise agreements.
