Rural Press harvests Riverina Media.

May 03, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A newspaper group in the southern New South Wales Riverina area has been bought by Rural Press (RP). RP paid $A64.5m for Riverina Media Group (RMG), which publishes Wagga Wagga's "The Daily Advertiser" and Australia-wide monthly "The Senior". According to Australian Securities & Investments Commission data, RMG was owned by Alicia Jarrett and made $A1.25m profit in 2004-05 on revenue of $A23.3m. The takeover will be the last by RP before it formally merges with Fairfax Media on 9 May 2007.
