May 03, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Workers at Australian airline, Qantas Airways, want to protect their entitlements within their work conditions. The Australian Services Union, which represents about one third of the 37,000 employees, is making a claim for improved pay and conditions. It has added security of entitlements to its claim. Unions are concerned that a successful takeover of Qantas by Airline Partners Australia will increase debt levels and lower cash reserves, putting entitlements at risk.
