Kaplan buys Finsia Education for $36 million.

May 07, 2007 (Money Management - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Kaplan will increase its presence in the Australian financial services education sector with the purchase of Finsia Education. Kaplan, which acquired Tribeca Learning for $A56 million in 2006, will pay the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (Finsia) for its business education unit. The sale is subject to a vote by Finsia members, expected to take place by the end of July 2007. Michael Shepherd, the president of Finsia, says that the decision to sell Finsia Education followed a 2006 review of its operations.
