Australasian Business Intelligence, May, 2007
Byline: Harriet Alexander
May 16, 2007 (The Sydney Morning Herald - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Macquarie University records show former vice-chancellor Di Yerbury took only 30.5 hours of leave in 19 years. New South Wales Auditor-General, Peter Achterstraat, noted in his annual universities report that Professor Yerbury was paid out for 2,504 hours of annual leave upon retirement, while other staff can only accumulate up to 280 hours. The report also states that the loss of Professor Yerbury's employment contract and poor record keeping related to the university's art collection were of concern. Excessive travel and entertainment expenditure by Macquarie International staff was also noted in the report.
