PIMCO hires Greenspan for some quarterly advice.

May 16, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Former US Federal Reserve chair Alan Greenspan has taken a job with Allianz's Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO). He will advise the California-based fund on strategy, joining chief investment officer Bill Gross. PIMCO is the world's biggest bond fund, with $US100bn ($A120bn) under management. Greenspan, 81, retired from the central bank in January 2006 after 18 years as chair. He has since declined to comment on monetary policy but is working on a book, "The Age of Turbulence".
