Australasian Business Intelligence, May, 2007

May 23, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A filing with the US Securities & Exchange Commission has revealed Google's investment of $A4.7 million in genetics start-up, 23andMe. The 23 May 2007 filing also revealed, for the purposes of transparency, that the founders of each company, Sergey Brin and Anna Wojcicki respectively, are married. A Google spokesperson said the investment is due to 23andMe's aim to develop a standardised genetic resource base for pharmaceutical research and for people to understand their own genetic structures.
