WA salaries rise to the top.
Australasian Business Intelligence, May, 2007
Byline: Tony Blackie
May 28, 2007 (BRW - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Western Australia (WA) has the country's highest wages for the first time since Hay Group began monitoring salaries 40 years ago. The mining boom has helped to boost WA's average salaries to four per cent higher than those in New South Wales and 10 per cent higher than those in South Australia. Richard Hardwick, of Hay Group, says WA companies are going to great lengths to secure and retain key staff, including "golden hellos" and greater opportunities for bonuses.
