UNSW to simplify act after Asia fiasco.
Australasian Business Intelligence, May, 2007

May 27, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A major restructuring is in the works at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in response to its ill-fated Asian venture. The university has accumulated large losses from the UNSW Asia venture, and it has now shelved plans for a campus at Changi in Singapore. The UNSW has announced plans to streamline its "controlled entities". It currently has 28 such entities, but this is likely to be reduced by about 50 per cent. The amount of control the UNSW has over its controlled entities was criticised in the latest annual review of universities by the state's auditor-general.
