Australasian Business Intelligence, June, 2007
Byline: Nicholas Gruen
Jun 05, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The amount of red tape strangling businesses in Australia is proliferating. Neither of the major political parties has learned how to reduce it. There are so many examples of where red tape could be cut, and one good idea is for all employers to send their employees' superannuation contributions to a central clearing house for this body to do the actual distribution. The Australian Taxation Office will pre-fill Australians' tax returns, because it already has much of the information anyway. Ideas like this are good and there should be more of them. Red tape is destroying the life of business owners.
