Jun 12, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Coles Group is examining the viability of launching a petrol discount scheme at 180 Kmart outlets. Kmart, which recorded a 3.2 per cent fall in comparable store sales in the three months ended 29 April 2007, is considered Coles' worst-performing chain. In a bid to combat the sales decline, Kmart is trialling a scheme under which shoppers who spend more than $A30 on Kmart goods can receive a $A0.04-a-litre discount voucher to be used at 600 Coles Express petrol stations.
