Finsia sale another lesson in competitive pressures.
Australasian Business Intelligence, June, 2007
Byline: Tim Boreham
Jun 12, 2007 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The sale of Finsia Education will be decided in mid-June 2007. Members of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia will vote on the sale of its education arm to US-based Kaplan for $A36 million. Education had been a core function of the professional association, but it now faces competition and financial difficulties. There is some opposition to the sale from members and the CEO. A higher offer from Fairfax Media was rejected due to conditions and uncertainty about the offer.
