Australasian Business Intelligence, June, 2007

Jun 12, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The insurance bill from floods is estimated at $A200 million, according to the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA). However, while this figure could increase, ICA's Paul Giles has cautioned that flood-related damage is sometimes excluded from home and contents insurance. Nevertheless, storm damage is a typical inclusion in products offered by Allianz Australia, Insurance Australia Group and Suncorp-Metway. Telstra and the ANZ Bank are also involved in relief packages for affected New South Wales residents.
