Merger prompts regional check-up.

Jun 13, 2007 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Details of staff and production levels at regional radio stations around Australia will need to be reported to Australia's media regulator. This follows market action changing the dynamics of media groups and deemed trigger events under new media laws proclaimed in April 2007. Fairfax Media and Rural Press merged, while the Seven Network took a 15 per cent stake in West Australian Newspapers. Most of the radio stations owned by these groups are in Western Australia and Queensland.
