Jun 14, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Germany's huge family-dominated companies are moving to protect themselves from foreign acquisition. The corporate dynasties employ 70 per cent of the nation's workforce and include such names as Volkswagen, Porsche and BMW. In 2006 the Mohn family paid EUR4.5bn to secure a controlling stake in Bertelsmann. The family had been a major force in the company for more than a century.
