Jun 18, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- After several years of catching up with Intel, AMD chips have begun to lose ground. Sales data released on 18 June 2007 show that in 2006, Intel's share of the personal computer market grew almost 2. This change was put down to Intel's new Core 2 Duo processor. Intel also accounts for 44 of the laptop market, a 7 increase on 2005. AMD's Australian performance cannot be judged as its financial reports are not available.
