Jun 21, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A number of Australian financial services groups have reported a sharp upturn in demand for capital-protected loans. Peter van der Westhuyzen of Macquarie Margin Lending says the group's protected lending products have enjoyed a 70 per cent increase in inflows in the June 2007 quarter, compared with the same period in 2006. Adelaide Bank has also achieved strong growth in its capital-protected loans business, although it notes that the sector tends to be affected by seasonal fluctuations.
