Jun 21, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Friends and colleagues of Brendan Keilar have paid tribute to a man who has been described as feisty, articulate and intelligent. The Melbourne lawyer was shot and killed on 18 June 2007, after coming to the aid of a woman in distress. Born in Warrnambool, Victoria, Keilar attended the University of Melbourne, where his reputation as a rover on the University of Melbourne Blacks team was "legendary". He was admitted to practice on 7 April 1988 and joined Molomby's shortly after. In 1994, Keilar took on a position with Blake Dawson Waldron and transferred to Norton Smith in 1996.
