Global online uni struggles.

Jun 24, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Thomson Learning and 19 universities worldwide are involved in the U21 Global scheme. The University of Melbourne's financial statements for the 12 months to 31 December 2006 reveal that Melbourne University has "impaired the investment" $A3 million, following a write-down of $A15.3 million in 2005. Vancouver's University of British Columbia is seeking to leave U21 Global and another two institutions are considering quitting. From the original 21, two left when News Corporation backed out: University of Toronto and Michigan University.
