More bosses fail to pay super dues.

Jun 24, 2007 (The Age - ABIX via COMTEX) -- New figures indicate some Australian employers do not pay their employees' superannuation, as they are required to do by law. Figures from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) show that super is part of outstanding debts and when companies become insolvent, the employee may never recover his or her super. Figures show that around 26,000 employers have still not paid their employees' compulsory super payments. Employers are currently exempt from paying the super if the company becomes insolvent. The Australian Government introduced a bill in May 2007 to give employees greater protection of their super assets if the company becomes insolvent.
