Nokia well ahead of the phone pack.

Australasian Business Intelligence, June, 2007

Jun 25, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A communications trade fair in Singapore in late June 2007 showed how keen mobile telephone companies are to crack the Asia-Pacific market. However, Nokia has already established distribution channels and holds 40 of the Asia-Pacific mobile phone market, Samsung holds 16 and Motorola 12. Analysts tip an increase of one billion mobile phone owners by 2010, up from the three billion owners in 2007. The key to competing in the Asia-Pacific seems to be to have strong distribution channels and point-of-sale presence.
