DHS changes tack, calls for tender.

Jun 26, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- There is a major IT project at Victoria's Department of Human Services (DHS). This department, with 11,000 staff, earlier appointed Andrew Howard to the post of chief information officer. Howard has outlined his plans to put together a number of IT experts to create a single, department-wide IT strategy. Each of the department's divisions currently operates its own IT strategy. The DHS has advertised five new senior roles and has also issued a request for tender. Howard has been given two years to develop his IT model.
