Jun 28, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The world's wealthiest people are getting wealthier at a rapid rate according to a report by Merrill Lynch and Capgemini. The report indicates that the super-rich increased their wealth by 11.4 per cent in 2006. However, charitable donations also rose during this period, to a total of $US285bn. The report estimates that the growth in riches is likely to continue, rising by 6.8 per cent annually for the next four years. Many of the world's super-rich reside in Germany, the US, Japan and the UK. Originally published in "The Guardian".
