Jun 29, 2007 (International Tax Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The European Court of Justice (ECJ) has confirmed the status of Biscay as an infra-state body. Such a body has a political and financial status separate from the central government. The ECJ expressed its views on the status of Biscay in its ruling in "Portuguese Republic vs. Commission of the European Communities" on 6 September 2006. Biscay has recently reformed its taxation by making changes in the tax rate and the tax credits.
