Jul 03, 2007 (BRW - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Michael Hawker, the CEO of Insurance Australia Group (IAG), is keen to involve the Australian business community in tackling climate change. Hawker, one of the main instigators behind the Australian Business Roundtable on Climate Change, says that IAG's research into weather patterns, instigated in 2002, revealed to it that the frequency and ferocity of storms was likely to increase if world temperatures continue to rise. The Australian Business Roundtable on Climate Change has called on the Australian Government to seek a 60 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
