Nod for group to bargain.
Australasian Business Intelligence, July, 2007
Jul 04, 2007 (The Weekly Times - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Victorian Potato Growers Council has received permission to undertake collective bargaining. The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) issued authorisation for the Council to hold joint negotiations with wholesalers and processors. Robin Cuy, secretary at McCain, said the Victorian processor supports the ACCC's decision. Grant Samuel, chairman of the ACCC, thinks collective bargaining will allow potato growers to have greater influence over the terms and conditions in their contracts.
