Sigma to make a play for API?

Jul 05, 2007 (Inside Retailing - ABIX via COMTEX) -- There is speculation about a possible takeover bid for Australian Pharmaceutical Industries (API). The pharmaceutical wholesaler and retailer reported a disappointing result for the 2006-07 fiscal year. Sigma Pharmaceuticals may consider a takeover offer for API, after deciding not to proceed with a bid for Symbion Health. The poor results at API leave the company vulnerable to a takeover. The major shareholder in API, Washington H Soul Pattinson, is rumoured to be reviewing its stake.
