Australasian Business Intelligence, July, 2007
Byline: Fiona Tyndall
Jul 08, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- LG Household & Healthcare is buying Coca-Cola Amatil's South Korean bottling operation. Under a preliminary understanding between buyer and seller, the embattled operation will be priced at between $A520 and $A545 million. This compares with a book value of $A700 million. The scale of any resulting write down by Coca-Cola Amatil will be moderated by exchange rate issues. Analysts welcome the Australian-listed soft drink company's sale of the division, which has recorded weak results for nine years.
