Many factors point to rate rise next time.

Jul 08, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Day traders have started factoring in the likelihood of an increase in interest rates in August 2007. The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is considered over 40 per cent likely to raise rates at its next meeting. Although prices are currently rising at 2.6 per cent per year, Macquarie Bank claims there are clear risks of higher inflation emerging in 2008. There is a very strong chance of interest rates being lifted twice in the next year, to 6.75 per cent. However factors such as the strong Australian dollar, which reins in economic growth, could help to contain inflation.
