Jul 09, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Western Australian Government's Shared Corporate Services project was originally slated to cost just $A122m. However, an audit has revealed that the cost of the project has blown out to $A196m, and it has been delayed by two years. Oracle has a 10-year contract to supply software for the project, at a cost of $A66.8m. Brian Roche, the executive director of the state's Office of Shared Services, says the Government has had some talks with Oracle regarding the payment of damages as a result of the delays in completing the project, while further negotiations are expected.
