Jul 10, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Speculation has again arisen that Singapore Airlines may take a stake in Virgin Blue Holdings. The rumours have been revived by Singapore Airline's plan to sell its 49 per cent stake in Virgin Atlantic. It is estimated that the airline would gain Stg1 billion ($A2.3 billion) from the sale, which would give it the funds to bid for Virgin Blue. On 10 July 2007, the Australian carrier's share price rose by $A0.06 to $A2.47.
