Jul 10, 2007 (The Age - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The CEO of Australian retail giant Woolworths has warned rival Coles that it will face a fierce battle to close the gap between the two retailers. Michael Luscombe says the new owner of Coles, Wesfarmers, will have to work extremely hard to catch up with Woolworths, which is "five years ahead" of the newly-acquired Coles.
