Jul 10, 2007 (The Sydney Morning Herald - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australian Labor Party Leader, Kevin Rudd, says he would direct the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) to take action on grocery prices. The competition regulator would conduct a survey of grocery prices for typical items that would be published on a web site, increasing price transparency and placing pressure on retailers engaging in inappropriate pricing. Rudd said he would also instruct the ACCC to conduct a national inquiry into grocery prices.
