Jul 16, 2007 (Weekly Tax Bulletin - ABIX via COMTEX) -- On 21 June 2007, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) issued Practice Statement Law Administration PS LA 2007/12. The document, titled "Conduct of Tax Office Litigation in Courts and Tribunals", provides guidance to ATO staff likely to be involved in conducting ATO litigation. The ATO states in the document that its obligation is to act as a model litigant. It remains to be seen whether the ATO will be able to adhere to its own rules.
