Jul 16, 2007 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Elmer Funke Kupper has been confirmed as the new CEO of Tabcorp. Funke Cooper was made interim CEO after the departure of Matthew Slatter and was a favoured candidate to lead the Australian-listed gambling company. Institutional investors and fund managers caution that the new CEO will need to reverse Tabcorp's performance quickly. Funke Kupper has pledged to constrain costs and improve communication with investors. Peter Morgan, of two per cent shareholder 452 Capital, stresses the need for the new CEO to "get the cost base right".
