Jul 16, 2007 (Money Management - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Two brothers have received jail terms after pleading guilty to tax fraud of more than $A3.5 million. Mark and Robert Norman operated an accounting firm in a Sydney suburb from August 1993 to April 2003. A joint investigation by the Australian Taxation Office and the Federal Police revealed that the two altered client tax returns so as to get greater refunds than expected by their clients. These extra monies were then transferred into their own bank accounts. Mark Norman was sentenced to nine years and nine months, while Robert Norman was sentenced to seven years.
